Call to Toyota Customer Care

Writing this while on hold with Toyota Customer Experience Center 800-331-4331. This is my first time calling. Been on hold for about 10 minutes and counting ....
30 minutes ....

Dawn answered ... Took down my name/address/VIN/etc. and my concern. Toyota already had my information, I just needed to update my address.

I have to tell you, the experience was positive. Dawn told me the next step was to call Brenda Gaynor at the local dealership and have the vehicle inspected and Toyota could then decide what to do from that point forward. I feel hopeful a solution may be possible. At least I was not totally blown off as I would expect would happen if I had called GM.

Have you gotten anywhere? My phone call to TMS USA sounded hopeful as well, but here I am, over a year later, still fighting Toyota (I have an attorney now)!

For $110 I can find out what is behind door number 1

They want me to have the vehicles checked out by Toyota (reasonable). The issue is, it will cost me $110! And for my $110 I will be told the engine is full of sludge and worthless. I plan on Monday to call Toyota Corp. back and ask if they could pay for the inspection. I already had two mechanics look at the vehicle ... It has sludge in it.

Opinions? Should I just pay the $110 in the hope it will end in a satisfactory response from Toyota?
